Talk, The New Sex Ed, Inc. (“TALK”) operates CampusChat.org (the “Site”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of information we receive from users of the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

By visiting our Site or communicating with us in other ways, you agree to the collection, use, and processing of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. Scope of This Privacy Policy:
This Privacy Policy describes how Company collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information and your choices regarding use, access, and correction of your personal information. We use the term “personal information” in this Privacy Policy to refer to information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is reasonably capable of being associated or linked, directly or indirectly, to you.
We collect personal information that you submit to us directly, and we may collect personal information that is gathered automatically online by internet technologies, and that we receive from social media and other sources. For example, we may collect information about you when you:

Information Collection and Use
When you visit the Site, we may ask for information such as:

  • personal narratives

  • sexual orientation
  • gender
  • race
  • ethnicity
  • country of origin (and state if applicable)
  • whether you participated in sex education program in high school
  • whether you are sexually active
  • Also, we collect data on how users interact with and navigate the Site, this includes which stories and story categories users prefer, the amount of time users spend on the site per log in, which Site elements users engage with, as well how users rate the stories.
This information is collected by:
  • web forms
  • newsletter sign-up
  • making a payment for goods or services
We will use your information for the following:
  • to send you updates about our programs and services
  • to send you surveys and other internal marketing activities
  • to store personal settings for the website
  • to maintain the website
  • targeted advertisement
  • in order to improve and enhance user experience and for the purposes of creating additional content that will resonate with our audience.
You can choose not to provide certain information. We only have access to/collect information that you give us via email, completed online forms on the Site or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We use Stripe, a third-party payment processor, for payment information for Gift Subscriptions on the Site.
We release personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law or protect the rights, property, or safety of TALK, our Site’s users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction. This does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from clients or donors for commercial purposes in violation of the commitments set forth in this Privacy Notice. We do not use cookies for advertising purposes.
How Do We Secure Your Information?
We place a high priority on protecting information transmitted on our web site, and always use industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving consumer data exchanged with our site. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site. We cannot guarantee that any electronic commerce is totally secure but do exercise prudent measures to protect and secure consumer information.
Retention and Protection of Personal Information:
We will retain your personal information as long as we provide services to you, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve any disputes, and enforce our agreements.
We maintain commercially reasonable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the categories and specific items of personal information we collect. Protection of Passwords:
Protecting privacy is a shared responsibility. Users of the Site are responsible for protecting the privacy of their passwords and ensuring that their accounts are not being misused or accessed by unauthorized persons. If a user suspects their account password is compromised, they should change it immediately.
Third-Party Links:
This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by our Site. To provide you with increased value, we may include third-party links on our Site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our Site and welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).
Online Policy Only:
This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through our Site and not to information collected by us offline.
Children’s Privacy Protection:
The services are not intended for use by children. Consistent with the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 that can be used to specifically identify them and we do not permit persons under the age of 13 to use the Site. Parents or legal guardians may not agree to the Terms of Use, this Privacy Policy, or the disclosure of such child’s Personal Information on such child’s behalf. If a parent or guardian is made aware that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personally identifiable information, we ask to be contacted via e-mail CampusChat@TheNewSexEd.org to make us aware and we will delete the information about the child referenced from our files.
State Privacy Rights:
State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their personal information. To learn more about California residents' privacy rights, visit https://oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa. California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia provide (now or in the future) their state residents with rights to:
  • Confirm whether we process their personal information.
  • Access and delete certain personal information.
  • Correct inaccuracies in their personal information, taking into account the information’s nature processing purpose (excluding Iowa and Utah).
  • Data portability.
  • Opt-out of personal data processing for:
    • targeted advertising (excluding Iowa);
    • sales; or
    • profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (excluding Iowa and Utah).
  • Either limit (opt-out of) or require consent to process sensitive personal data.
To exercise any of these rights please send an email to CampusChat@TheNewSexEd.org. Certain states provide you the right to appeal our decision regarding your request in certain instances. To appeal a decision regarding a consumer rights request, please send an email to CampusChat@TheNewSexEd.org requesting an appeal of a previous decision. We will endeavor to respond to your appeal within 45 days but not more than is required by law in your state.
Nevada provides its residents with a limited right to opt-out of certain personal information sales. Residents who wish to exercise this sale opt-out rights may submit a request to CampusChat@TheNewSexEd.org.
Processing of Personal Information in the United States:
Company operates under United States laws and regulations. If you reside or are located in a different country, the data protection laws of that country may differ from the laws of the United States in the ways your personal information is protected. We want you to understand that when you provide your personal information to us, or engage in a transaction with us, you are giving your consent to (1) the transfer of your personal information outside of your country of residence, and (2) the processing of your information in accordance with the laws of the United States and the guidelines of this Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time and all updates will be posted on this page and your continued use of this Site indicates your consent to such changes.
